Dear Faithful Friends of Mysterium Fidei,
This website will not be positing new audio files of Monsignor Cook's homilies for the next five years because he has been called to the Vatican to work for the Congregation for the Clergy in Rome. The Mysterium Fidei website will still be maintained, however, with all of the current homilies available for listening or downloading. If something changes in his assignment, or if Monsignor Cook finds an apostolate in Rome where he can record his sermons, they will be posted to the website.
Thank you and God bless you.
The Staff at Mysterium Fidei.
In his apostolic letter The Rapid Development, Pope John Paul II emphasized the importance of utilizing the media to help further the gospel.
He noted:
In the communications media the Church finds a precious aid for spreading the Gospel and religious values, for promoting dialogue, ecumenical and inter-religious cooperation, and also for defending those solid principles which are indispensable for building a society which respects the dignity of the human person and is attentive to the common good. The Church willingly employs these media to furnish information about itself and to expand the boundaries of evangelization, of catechesis and of formation, considering their use as a response to the command of the Lord: "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature" (Mk 16:15).
This website represents our humble attempt to proclaim the gospel, utilizing new forms of communication, to make Jesus Christ known and loved. We pray it may lead you to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.
In Christ,
